New India Assurance — unsatisfactory claim settlement

Please briefly explain why you feel this question should be reported .

Please refer The New India Assurance Co. Ltd Policy  dated 06 Aug 2016, issued to Mr Piyush Kesavamurthi (R/O of HNo. 2459, Sec-2, Ballabgarh, Haryana-121004) for his bike Royal Enfield bike with Reg No. HR-51-BK-9008.The bike was stolen on 07 Nov 2016 and recovered on 24 Oct 2017. All due procedure were followed (lie FIR, insurance complaint etc). The bike was take to the respective service centre and the estimate given was 1, 01, 981 Rs which is over 75% IDV (Rs 1, 26, 461 /-). Most of the part of the bike is damage/changed/tampered (including the engine) Hence the bike should be considered in the total loss criteria and the customer should be paid the IDV value.

But for some reason the surveyor says that the actual cost would be less and he refused to declare the bike in total loss. More over the claim is not covered in cashless which make the customer liable to pay the huge amount. This is cheating on the part of The New India Assurance Co. Ltd.All copies Attached for reference (FIR copy, Insurance copy, Estimate of repair by service centre)

Please look into the matter and revert
