Received a call from number +91 [protected] on 29th May 2015.The person who spoke introduced himself as Rehman(Emp Id#1334) from the Mastercard/Visa .He said that my card has been selected to get some free gifts (1) PROVOGUE Unisex watch (2) 2 Lakhs Insurance Package from ICICI Lombard (3) Free Holiday package anywhere inside India-ALL FREE OF COST.. I did know about these people but did not shout or reveal that I dont own any Credit card as they might disconnect the call.I started my enquiry just like any one who would be interested with such a scheme. At last he came to the point where he mentioned even though they give all these things, I need to pay 9999 as service tax through my credit card since they cannot pay service tax alone. Few important questions I asked (1)How can you call from VISA/MASTERCARD since they both are seperate entities?? for which he answered that these are people calling to give offers for these cards (2)How did you get my number?…madam we get through our system..(which system..God only knows?!!) (3)Why do you want to give me all these exciting gifts worth lakhs?…infact the bank should be giving me these..how come you want to give all these free??..his answer “bank usually doesnt get involved with all these offers, we are external agencies and will help”… and after this I started bombarding him with more and more questions and he without any notice passed on his receiver to another person who started speaking in high authoritative tone… After I blasted him for playing cheap tricks and mentioned I will report to concerned team, he then revealed that they are some company from NewDelhi and wanted to sell their prodcuts..but he dint accept these in a normal tone.When I asked him how can he say he is calling from Master/visa, he answered “madam how can we call from mastercard/visa..they are 2 seperate entities”..the questions whichever I asked he asked me back.. He said my colleague just mentioned like how in supermarkets they accept mastercard/visa, we accept these cards…see how they have changed the context Atlast I completed my statement saying “Whatever your collegue mentioned not even a minute back, you are not accepting and saying a diferent story..with this I come to know what big tricks you are playing..If you want to sell your product, tell the name and sell it genuinely and not use the name of banks and do fraudulent activities” and disconnected The reason for me making the post is just to let the consumer complaint forum know that such people exist and they are using the name of Banks to sell their product.I have provided the number and the name of person who called me, Please track and make these frauds feel for their mistakes. Few years back similarly another company called SHIFTTHOUGHTS and they gave the same offer for 5999 If anyone types 5999 SUPERSAVER/SHIFTTHOUGHTS on internet, you can see the number of complaints against them. I am not sure if the people who called me are the same from SHIFTTHOUGHTS but just BEAWARE and dont get cheated NOONE GETS ANYTHING FOR FREE.DONT GET FOOLED BY SUCH PEOPLE
